This is how it works during the typical trivia night, each round is comprised of five of 10 questions for each. Each correct answer will earn your team one point, totaling a possible 50 points if you play the perfect game.
However, the fun doesn't stop there. This year's NYC Trivia League adds an additional element of competition by way of its bonus point system. Every day, the top 25 teams earn extra points, with the highest 10 teams earning bonus points, and the following 15 teams receiving 3. Throughout the week, the top 50 teams also earn bonus points Top 25 teams receiving 10 points and the following 25 receiving 5.
For the calculation of your overall league score, we start with the base score and change it to a 100-point scale considering the 15 bonus points which are awarded each week. In this case, a base score of 50 points is multiplied by 85 and then the bonus points are added to potentially reach a full 100.
